ABOUT THE ROLE:
Happy Home Hospital is looking for a skilled and hygienic Cook to prepare and serve nutritious and quality meals for patients’ attendants and hospital staff. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining food quality, kitchen hygiene, and timely meal preparation in accordance with the hospital’s kitchen protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner for patients’ attendants and hospital staff as per the daily menu.
- Ensure timely preparation and serving of meals.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and portion sizes.
- Follow the approved menu and dietary instructions provided by the hospital administration.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, utensils, and cooking equipment at all times.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials and cooked food.
- Monitor the stock of groceries, vegetables, and kitchen supplies and inform the concerned department when replenishment is required.
- Minimise food wastage and ensure optimum utilisation of kitchen resources.
- Follow all food safety and infection control protocols of the hospital.
- Maintain records of daily food preparation and consumption, if required.
- Coordinate with the kitchen helper and other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of kitchen waste.
- Assist during special events, meetings, or hospital functions whenever required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10th pass.
- Certification in Food Production or Catering will be an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Cook in a hospital, hostel, canteen, restaurant, or similar establishment.
- Experience in preparing meals in bulk quantities will be preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Good knowledge of Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking.
- Ability to prepare meals for large groups efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation.
- Good time-management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts or on weekends and holidays, if required.
